As the housing market remains competitive and people continue to spend an ample amount of time at home, remodeling remained the go-to option for a refreshed space. Houzz found that "55% of homeowners are planning to renovate." Remodeling can be fun, exciting, and stressful. Leave it to us to help you navigate your next remodel!
Plan and Prep.
The best advice we can give is to plan it out. Creating a goal and vision for the remodel can be a great starting point to help map out the order of actions needed. Think of why you are remodeling this space. Does something need to be repaired? Or is it a complete floorplan change? These questions will help weed through where to start and what the budget needs to include.
Budget.
Once you are able to pinpoint the reasoning behind the remodel, budgeting out the investments should be the next priority. According to a study conducted by Freedom Debt Relief, “approximately 60% of homeowners say they can't afford the necessary renovations to their home but are willing to go even more into debt to make it happen.”
Setting and sticking to a budget can be crucial for setting your home remodel (and future) up for success. Consider how much time, materials, and furniture are going to be needed.
Make Room for Storage!
Leaving room for storage is one of the most neglected areas during a remodel. Whether the remodel is for you to continue to enjoy, or to ready your home to sell, storage is an area homebuyers are wanting!

Celebrate and Decorate!
You’ve made it to the end! Now it’s time to fill your space with décor and furniture. Start with adding big items like couches, chairs, tables, and entertainment systems (this is also a great time to lay down any rugs before heavy furniture). Once the big picture is completed, that’s when you can liven up the space with smaller items like pillows, blankets, pictures, books, and more!
